The State of Florida does not have a state income tax. That means there's no personal income tax extension! If you received a confirmation email from Express Extension that your federal tax extension was approved, you're done!

The State of Florida requires that you file for a business state income tax extension, whether you owe state income taxes or expect a refund. If the form is completed accurately and turned in on time, you'll be granted a six month tax extension. If you weren't approved for a federal extension, you'll need to give a reason for requesting a state extension.

Filing a Florida tax extension does not grant you extra time to pay any tax balance due. Your balance must be paid by your original tax deadline to avoid possible penalties.
